Memorial Day 2020 Flag Placing

  • Toledo Memorial Park - EAST LANDSCAPE 6382 Monroe Street Sylvania, OH, 43560 United States (map)

Spring and early summer are one of the most beautiful times of the year to visit with our many tulips and flowering trees coming into full bloom. Over 14,000 American flags decorating the graves of our fallen heroes over the Memorial Day weekend adds to the beauty of the cemetery.  Help us place the sea of flags in remembrance of the bravest heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Please join Toledo Memorial Park on Wednesday, May 20th, Thursday, May 22nd and/or Friday, May 23rd.  8:30am-3pm each day for our Annual Flag Placing event.

Every year, volunteers from Sylvania and the surrounding areas come out to make sure no solider is forgotten this Memorial Day. They take the time to give back and help pay tribute to our Veterans.

Please call Jim Lyell for volunteer information at 419-356-5378.

Parking will be on the east landscape, as well as a small tent and restrooms.  We ask that everyone abide by the 6 ft social distancing and wear masks while near the tent area.  Please try to work in small groups of no more than 8 to 10 people and wear masks when appropriate.  No light refreshments this year due to COVID-19 we apologize.
